I am a proud user of BigCommerce – just switched from Yahoo to BC a few weeks ago and I’ll never go back! The features are fantastic for the money and the UX is great for my level of code knowledge: none. Please note that I say the features are great “for the money.” I do wish there were more tools available to me, like drop shipping integration, but I really can’t complain for the cost. The first day of every month I make more than enough to pay for my monthly costs, and then I get to enjoy profit going forward, so all in all I’m happy. My sales have risen by 20% since I moved to BigCommerce!
I was having a lot of problems with Volusion and their hosting so decided to switch earlier this year so I can get used to BigCommerce and prepare for Q4. My site does a lot content on deals, and we do a lot of sales on Cyber Monday and Black Friday so wanted to get an ecommerce solution with a robust feature set to help me showcase the deals. So far I have been really impressed and have become very familiar with the interface and all of the tools and features only after 2 months. Highly Recommended!
I’m a huge fan of BigCommerce. I’ve heard some rumblings about PCI compliance and am concerned about that though, but I think that they have all their bases covered because they work with already compliant payment gateways. Still, if I could rate it on a scale of 1 to 5 I’d give BigCommerce a 4 simply because I don’t want to have to work with payment gateways for every sale.
I struggle to find a complaint about BigCommerce, but feel that a proper review must have at least 1 con. So let’s start with the pros.
PROS: SEO, customer service, INCREDIBLY easy to use, image zoom, marketing advice on their blog, 50 great templates to choose from, ease of use for the customer.
CONS: OK, only 1 – no mobile optimized storefront. BUT, my store shows up OK on my iPhone and there’s also a great iPhone app to manage my backend admin panel.
So far so good! Signed up about a month ago and have been very happy with the feature set and customer service. Wonder what features and updates will come later this year?
